How they met...
Steve and Allison met at Mr. Gattis in June 2002 when she first began working there. On her first day, they only spoke to each other enough for him to show her how things worked around the kitchen. Before the night was over, other employees were asking her for my number so they could give it to Steve. As the months passed, they only talked when they had to and often did their own thing at work. School started not too long after that, Allison remember walking in to history class and seeing Steve sitting there the first day and immediately went on the opposite side of the classroom. As the weeks went by, class projects "forced" them to work together, creating a friendship that they had avoided before. They eventually began hanging out and became good friends....even going to Junior Prom together. It wasn't until November 2003 that Allison decided to quit being stubborn and go on a date with him. The rest is history...
The proposal...
At Steve's family Christmas, everyone was gathered in the living room, ready to begin opening gifts. Steve's aunt and uncle began passing gifts around the room, making sure everyone had one to open. After a few minutes, Steve's uncle handed Allison a small, rectangular box. Just as she reached for it, Steve told her she had to open that one last and quickly set it on the floor. She got all excited and slowly slouched down to feel it as Steve turned his head. It definitely wasn't a ring box, so she went on opening the other gifts given to her. About five minutes later, Steve told her she could go ahead and open the small box from before and that it was from Megan and Morgan (his sisters). She opened the box to find a brown watch. She told Morgan thank you and set it down. A few minutes had passed when Steve asked Allison if she told Megan thank you (which she hadn't because she didn't want to yell across the room). However, with Steve insisting that it was rude of her, she yelled at Megan and told her thank you. A confused look quickly swept over Megan's face. Allison held up the watch and told her thank you for it. After she realized what she meant, Steve's other aunt looked at Allison and asked why in the world someone would buy her a watch for Christmas. Allison wasn't quite sure how to respond, seeing as how she could really use it. As that time, Steve came to the rescue, only not with the answer she had expected. As Allison turned to Steve, he quickly responded with "So she will remember what time I asked her to marry me." With that, Steve reached in Morgan's bag and pulled out a beautiful solitare diamond ring and asked her to marry him....and after a long pause of shock, the answer was YES!
